Brandon Bouma


Assistant Coach

The 2021 season is Brandon Bouma's fifth year at VCSU as an assistant football coach. After working the first three seasons as a graduate assistant, Bouma has been promoted to recruiting coordinator and running backs coach for the 2020 season. He will continue to hold those roles during the 2021 season.

In 2020, freshman running back Taylor Simmons was named 2nd Team All-Conference after rushing for 516 yards and three touchdowns in seven games.

During the 2019 season, running back Louis Quinones was named Honorable Mention All-American after leading the NAIA in rushing yards per game and all purpose yards per game. He ended his career as the school's all-time leading rusher with 3530 career rushing yards. 

In 2018, junior running back Louis Quinones was named 2nd Team All-Conference after scoring 10 touchdowns and averaging 116 rushing yards per game. As a team, VCSU averaged 177 rushing yards per game which ranked 32nd in the nation.

Bouma completed his undergraduate education and playing career at Presentation College in Aberdeen, S.D. He earned a bachelor's degree in business - sports administration at Presentation and then completed a Master of Arts in Teaching at Valley City State.
